Fitness

In today’s society that is moving more and more towards an inactive lifestyle, there is an alarming need to increase daily physical activities to maintain a fit body & a fit mind. Staying fit means keeping our body functioning at healthy levels in all components of fitness namely, Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Strength & Endurance, Flexibility and Body Composition. Regular exercise helps us to maintain healthy lungs and heart, improves muscle strength and endurance; increase joint flexibility and maintains body fat. A child who physically and mentally fit , lives life to the fullest & is less prone to medical ailments. Studies suggest that most of the physical weaknesses could be eliminated if attention is paid towards physical activity level and fitness. Signs of evolving weaknesses should be detected and treated early, to ensure long term health of the child. Looking deep into all these aspects of physical growth of the child, we start our Sports period with at least 15-20 minutes of fitness session. We also conduct Fitness test twice in a year to measure & monitor the development in every child, the record is called Fitness Report. Other than these sessions, separate time is devoted to practicing Yoga and Aerobics in the Fitness Studio. The studio has the capacity to house an entire class at a time and it is a part of our upcoming infrastructure, the Gymkhana (collaborated infrastructure).

Outdoor Sports

Playing Outdoors Sports promotes well-being and wholesome physical development. Children are naturally drawn to active play outdoors: it allows them to explore their environment, develop muscle strength and coordination, and gain self-confidence. Playing actively outdoors also increases flexibility, fine and gross motor skills and is related to the development of a wide variety of physical skills, including those involved in sports. A few traits which you learn while playing team outdoor sports are team building, self-discipline, physical stamina, sportsman spirit, under-pressure performance, confidence, planning, being spontaneous etc. Children have a great need for physical exercise and activity and a chance to use their muscles to run, swing, jump, skip and hop, and to be out in the fresh air and sunshine. They like to use their whole body when they play outdoors, and find such physical activities interesting and challenging. As per the statistics available online, a moderate level activity should be done at least for 60-75 minutes every day for maintaining fitness. So, we want our students to play as much as possible and stay fit both physically & mentally.
