Health & Hygine

Medical Policy

In order for children to do their best at school they need to be healthy in both body and mind. If your child is unwell and feeling sick, we request you not to send them to school. Children must be fever-free for 24 hours, without medication before returning to school to avoid the chance of a relapse and their condition still being contagious. The School has a First Aid room where the children can rest if they feel sick during school hours or for any first aid treatment.

Parents whose children have any special needs are requested to inform the class teacher of the child’s need at the beginning of each academic year so that the child’s special need can be handled appropriately in the medical form. Any changes in their medical conditions must also be communicated in writing.

Hospital Tie-Ups & Emergency

We are tied-up with doctors from well-renowned Hospital for any kind of emergency that may arise in the School. The school takes care of the first-aid that is required for immediate assistance.

Medication

As a policy, the school shall not administer any drugs to the children. In case your child is under medication, please ensure that the child is properly guided to take his or her own medicine or provide very clear instructions to the class teacher to help the child with the medication.

Emergencies

A school is an active environment; when children become sick or get hurt during the school day, the school will provide first aid.

Techniques:

  •  Class teacher and other school personnel are prohibited to give over-the-counter medication or anti-biotic medicines.
  •  In case a medicine has to be administered, the teacher shall call the parents and seek their permission before doing so.
  •  If the child is unwell while at school, the parents at their discretion can collect and take him or her for medical treatment to a physician. In case of grave emergency on your behalf, we will admit your child to the nearest multispecialty hospital.
